Honestly, I didn’t expect much from Roht’s takeout window, but the food blew me away. They offer classic fried dishes and a few broiled options. The menu at Roht Marine is compact but hits all the right notes. The small bar whips up some of the finest mojitos in the area. The dock is a fantastic spot to watch boats on the river, although there might be a slight issue with tiny flying bugs—they’ve got bug spray on standby, though. The place gets crowded, and for good reason—it’s just that good.

Living close to Roht, we frequent it by boat. The food is excellent, but be prepared for a wait during busy times—the small kitchen can get overwhelmed. The drinks are fantastic and make the wait fly by. The views and people-watching make it the perfect spot for fried clams or an amazing turkey sandwich with Gerard Farms meat. Eric, the owner, is almost always around and happy to chat. A hidden gem on the South Shore—don’t miss the clams casino!1

Visited twice, once by boat and once by car. A hidden gem right by the river with fantastic views. Eric, the owner, is always on hand, putting in serious effort. He checks in regularly to ensure everything’s fantastic. A very friendly guy who takes pride in his work, and it shows. The food is outstanding—recommend the fried whole clams, and my wife swears by the popcorn shrimp. A $2 grilled hot dog is a nice bonus. The small walk-up bar in the back has a tropical vibe and a decent selection of drinks. Roht Marine accept cards but cash only for tips. The atmosphere is super laid back, with people docking their boats for a free dinner. Very dog-friendly, and it’s one of my favorite summer spots. Looking forward to the fall foliage along the river.

Erich’s Clam Shack is an absolute delight for summer drinks and delectable seafood. I’ve been there a few times, and the food is consistently fresh and mouthwatering. It’s the perfect spot for a superb Margherita, watching the North River sunset, and enjoying the boat views at the dock. I highly recommend Erich’s Clam Shack at Roht Marine.

Back in the day, this joint was known as “Mary’s,” but on a recent trip, I noticed it’s had quite the makeover. It’s a chill spot to kick back, have a couple of beers, and take in the river activities. Live music, ample parking, and we rented a 15′ whaler for a scenic ride up and down the river (no wake!). Had an absolutely fantastic time at Roht Marine.
